Arroyo City
Volunteer
Fire Department

Serving Cameron County since 2007

The Arroyo City Volunteer Fire Department is an all volunteer fire department and a proud service provider to the Cameron County Emergency Services District.

The hamlet of Arroyo City is a small community located on the Arroyo Colorado River in the remote northeast corner of Cameron County, TX. The settlement is the gateway to Adolph Thomae Jr. County Park and the Lower Laguna Madre. We are adjacent to the Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge - home to the largest surviving ocelot population in the USA.

The Fire Department provides fire protection and emergency services to the surrounding area. We have 4 vehicles and cover a fire zone of approximately 66 square miles, from the Laguna Madre in the east to the boundary of Johnson Road in the west and from the Arroyo Colorado in the north to San Fernando Road in the south. Our territory includes the Laguna Atascosa Wildlife Refuge, Adolph Thomae Jr. County Park, Arroyo City, the Arroyo Colorado Public Hunting area and the surrounding farm land.
